Beth, Maya and I made our bi-annual pilgrimage to California in December. We were royally entertained by (in no particular order) Jerry Lujan, Luanna Cabrera, Brad and Mandy Gerberich, Leo and Cuba Montero and Habib and Leslie Baghdadi. Habib, Leslie, Beth and I also spent a couple of nights at a zoo that goes by the name of Bellagio in Las Vegas.
Familymoon August 2009
What the hell is that? It's when you get married but instead of going on vacation with your new spouse, you take the whole family. And so the newlyweds, Stephen and Beth, rented two houseboats and went en famille to Lake Cumberland, KY with Maya, Tony, Frankie, Luanna, Brad, Mandy, Sophia, Habib, Leslie, Yasmin, Kristin. Cuba, Leo, John Paul and Eileen.
Leslie's 50th August 2009
While on the houseboats on Lake Cumberland we also celebrated Leslie's 50th birthday. We even managed to lay on a meteor shower to mark the occasion.
Stephen and Beth's Wedding August 2009
Stephen and Beth were married at the French House, Amberly on 7 August by Revd. Frieda Hughes. We had originally intended it to be our engagement party but when friends and family from far and wide began accepting invitations, we decided to upgrade to a wedding. The whole thing was planned and executed in four weeks. Beth and Stephen were able to share their day with friends and family from the UK and California. Unfortunately Stephen's brother Andrew was detained in Madrid but Richard Jobling, Stephen's college room-mate, stepped up to be Best Man for the day.
The US Citizen and Immigation Service has approved Beth's application for Stephen's Green Card. Yippee!
Stephen invested in a custom woodworking business, founded and operated by master craftsman John Pater. We are working on some reorganizing and plan to re-launch the business as Pater Architectural (www.paterarchitectural.com) in the near future. In the meantime, if you have any custom millwork requirements, I commend John to you!
After five years, Stephen left Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals for pastures new. He spent the summer painting the exterior of the house and repairing the trim. Oh yes, and getting married to Beth.
